Another amazing Painting in the Vineyard Tour done and dusted on the weekend. If you had of told me 4 years ago that I would have been working on a Sunday starting at 5.30 am and finishing at 7pm I would have told you, you were crazy – I probably wouldn’t have been that polite.
But now that is exactly what I am doing when I run tours. And what do I think about that? I absolutely love it. Love it! So what do I love? Working with wonderful people like Kathy Karas, I mean how could you not – a lovely lady who is so very talented and passionate about what she does, so giving to her students and everyone who knows Kathy just loves her. And I am lucky enough to do these tours with her.
Then there are the gorgeous people who join us on these tours. They are enthusiastic, open, friendly and bubbly people who make all the hard work so worthwhile. It is like spending a day with friends.
And then there are the business owners we work with. And Raj at Silos Estate is one of my favourite people to work with. Funny, knowledgeable, approachable – he even dragged out some gazebos for me on the chance of rain. Raj and the team are so accommodating that spending time at Silos is such a joy. Oh and did I mention how delicious their wines are? Always good to buy a few bottles to take home.
We strive to create an environment that allows individuals to create their own travel journey whether it be for one day, a weekend, short break or overseas trip
Yes it is hard work and long days but when you are passionate about what you are doing it simply doesn’t seem like hard work. I love it when a day comes together. I am constantly looking at how to make the experience even better, more streamlined but most importantly how to make it the best possible day for our travellers.
This tour particularly hit home to me that the philosophy I have tried to create with Travel Charm is working. Whatever the trip or tour we create I always allow flexibility within the itinerary. I will never plan an itinerary rigidly, it needs to be able to change to suit. Because we strive to create an environment that allows individuals to create their own travel journey whether it be for one day, a weekend, short break or overseas trip. At the end of the day it is their trip, their tour, their experience that counts above all else.
On Sunday I watched as some people painted and painted, perfecting their skills, challenging themselves. I watched others relax, enjoy good conversation, laugh and explore just enjoying the freedom of the day – time for themselves.
That to me says that we accomplished our mission. Thank you to all the lovely ladies who joined us. It was such a pleasure spending the day with you. I can’t wait for the next adventure.
